Back to Work is Play

Play is work or work is play? Because when I work I am playing. I love what I do. When I get the time to do it. If I have to (get to) go to work, I walk downstairs to my studio (which is much too messy now to show anyone) and decide on which project to work on. Does anyone else have a hard time figuring out where to start? I guess I must have the attention span of a gnat because I get started doing something I've been dying to do, and then some idea pops into my head based on what is in front of me, and off I go in a different direction. Actually that's one of my motives for having a try to keep focused on the task at hand instead of planning 10 more cool things to do. I thought that if I write it down, I'm more likely to try to finish it. That's what my goal setting book says.

Today I was trying to concentrate on creating a piece of jewelry for a pet. That's one of my businesses. I'm part-owner of XYZA, with a website named I think I mentioned that in my previous post. Well, I went to work, which meant I had to clean and straighten up my work desk. Then when I had space to work I took out beads for what I was planning. Of course, you can never have too many beads and you never have the color you need on hand to do what you visualize. So I ended up online at my favorite bead store shopping. At least I started a shopping cart. But then I felt guilty for not doing any work-type work, so I decided that while I was online I'd do blog entries. As soon as I ease my guilty conscience I'll get back to work shopping. What a rough life I lead! Then after I shop I'll go back and see if I can complete a different necklace with the beads that I have. I'll have to start planning to take pictues as I complete things. It's more fun to see finished projects, isn't it? Off I go.
